UPDATE 10/15/2024 - TRWRA Project at Sommers Boy Scout Park

Oceanport

The Two Rivers Water Reclamation Authority (TRWRA) is working in conjunction with Hazen and Sawyer and Schiavone Construction Co. LLC (Schiavone) to replace TRWRA’s aging Pleasure Bay Interceptor and Main Pump Station in Monmouth Beach. 

We are anticipating the following schedule for the work through October:

• Currently underway – Schiavone is currently excavating the lower half of the shaft in Oceanport Sommer’s Park.  Due to construction activities at the TRWRA Plant in Monmouth Beach, Oceanport may also experience minor traffic impacts from the transportation of excavated material and the delivery of concrete.
• Throughout October 2024 – Schiavone to continue excavation of the shaft within the sheet pile ring in Oceanport Sommer’s Park and truck excavated material. 

Status of Sommers Park in Oceanport

 Impacts will occur during working hours as the Contractor continues construction activities in Sommers Park.  As mobilization continues, minor roadway impacts will occur due to delivery of construction equipment and other materials as well as from the trucks removing the excavated material from the site.  Any impacts to the local traffic patterns will be coordinated with the local police department and authorities to ensure the safe maintenance of traffic in the affected areas.

We will continue to provide monthly updates throughout the project and any upcoming impacts that may be anticipated to the local communities.
